FAQ

Many of these gifts can be bought from a shop. Why not just do that?

An item bought from a shop will not be received anywhere near as joyfully as something that incorporates more of your own love and labour. Try it out and see for yourself.

You can also customise a handcrafted gift to the tastes and preferences of your recipient.

I don’t have a garden. Can I use store-bought plants?

Of course! We recommend using homegrown plants because our lifestyle emphasises gardening, and we believe that homegrown plants are tastier, more fragrant and contain more of ‘you’. As you explore our ideas, perhaps you’ll be inspired to explore your green thumb.

I need a last minute gift. Can you help?

Handcrafting is not always the best strategy for filling your last-minute gift-giving needs. Many of our suggestions involved collecting, harvesting and/or preparing materials, which may mean that immediate results are not possible. However, as you become more experienced, you will find it possible to have a stock of materials, and even finished non-perishable gifts, ready to go when you need them.

Remember – practise makes perfect, and you can always practice by making gifts for yourself.
